Some weekends start early. Minecraft Mania begins at 16:00 on Friday, before this edition's Friday window opens. After that, take in an exhibition, get stuck into something creative or turn up the volume with Danny Vera on Saturday.

Minecraft Mania starts early on Friday: 6 Vrijdagmiddag-workshops 25 september t/m 6 november 2026 (leeftijd/age 8+)
Friday 30 October brings Minecraft Mania to De Ontdekfabriek. Designed for children aged eight and over, it is one of six Friday afternoon workshops, each with a different making activity. It is a specific afternoon session, not a game or exhibition running throughout the whole weekend. The workshop starts at 16:00 and finishes at around 17:15. That is one hour before this Magazine edition's Friday window begins, so treat it as something to arrange ahead of time rather than a spontaneous Friday evening plan. The organiser lists the date and time on its own ticket page. Check the conditions and whether places are still available. The wider series continues until 6 November, but 30 October is the relevant session for this weekend. Friday, 30 October 2026 at 16:00 · De Ontdek-fabriek. Price: Vanaf € 48,00.
Small & Slow AI takes its foot off the accelerator: Small & Slow AI
Bigger, faster, smarter: that is how artificial intelligence is usually pitched. At MU Hybrid Art House, the exhibition Small & Slow AI explores another approach. What happens when systems become smaller, more personal and easier to understand? Rather than chasing the next record, the focus turns to what people can actually do with technology. There is plenty to look at and think about here. You do not need to write code or know how an AI model works. The interesting question is who gets to shape these tools, and why they should always have to grow. Small & Slow AI runs until 3 January 2027. Admission was free during Dutch Design Week, 17-25 October. That offer does not automatically apply this weekend, so check MU's current admission details before visiting. Ongoing, until Sunday, 3 January 2027 at 18:00 · MU Hybrid Art House. Price: Controleer toegang bij MU.
Danny Vera brings the noise to the Klokgebouw: Danny Vera Beggin' For More Trouble Part 2
On Saturday 31 October, Danny Vera takes over the Klokgebouw with Beggin' For More Trouble Part 2. The programme offers more than a straightforward concert. Alongside the live music, the organisers list DJs, workshops and opportunities to eat, drink and join in. Rock is the centrepiece, but there is more happening around it. Doors open at 16:00, making this an afternoon and evening worth setting aside proper time for. It is not something to squeeze into a brief wander around the neighbourhood. The building and programme both deserve a little space in your plans. The advertised base ticket price is EUR 62.72, excluding ten per cent service fees and any additional charges. Check the official ticket seller for the total price and current availability. Saturday, 31 October 2026 at 16:00 · Klokgebouw Cultuurhallen. Price: €62,72 (excl. 10% servicekosten en transactie- en/of verzendkosten).
An Italian evening starts with fresh pasta: La Bottega by Squisito pasta workshop
At La Bottega by Squisito, pasta is something you make before you eat. Its group workshops combine fresh Italian pasta-making with an aperitivo, at Torenallee 625. This is not a Friday evening drop-in activity. Workshops are arranged on request, and a session on 30 October has not been confirmed. If you have a group that would rather roll up its sleeves than simply book dinner, ask Squisito about the options first. On request · La Bottega by Squisito.
Pick up a spray can at Can Gallery: Can Gallery graffiti workshops
At Can Gallery, graffiti is not just something to admire from a distance. The gallery runs workshops for groups, families and children's parties, giving people a chance to try the art form themselves. Workshops need to be arranged in advance. There is no confirmed public session for 30 or 31 October or 1 November, so do not turn up expecting a class to be running. Contact Can Gallery to discuss what is possible for your group. On request · Can Gallery.
Start the weekend on your feet: Microlab weekly bootcamps
If a Saturday lie-in is not your thing, take a look at Microlab's bootcamp timetable. Its regular group sessions on Strijp-S include a Saturday slot from 10:00 to 11:00 according to the published weekly schedule. A timetable is not a guarantee of a place on 31 October. Check the latest session details and how to join with the organiser. If the session is running and there is room, it is one way to start the weekend without sitting still. There is more behind a pint at Rabauw
Rabauw is a brewery and brewpub with a social mission. At Torenallee 55, beer, food and the people making it all have a place. It gives a visit rather more of a story than whatever is on tap. The venue has regular weekend opening hours, while tastings and group activities may need separate arrangements. Check current hours and booking options before setting off.
studioRUIG lets the materials do the talking
At studioRUIG, colour, materials and character matter. Designers Klaartje Glashorster, Inge Hendriks and Sophie Soons work with leather among other materials, and the label makes a point of individual pieces. Find its flagship shop at Torenallee 60-10. It is worth a look if you prefer distinctive design over identical rails of clothes. The store's regular opening days are Friday and Saturday, not Sunday. Plan your visit accordingly.
StuntStepCenter knows every part of a scooter
StuntStepCenter specialises in stunt scooters, custom components and protective equipment. Its Eindhoven shop sits at Leidingstraat 8, on the ground floor of the Trudo Tower. Rather than a general sports shop, it focuses on the details that make a scooter work. The business also lists lessons, but that does not mean a class is available this weekend. Check the Eindhoven shop's current hours, stock and lesson arrangements before visiting.
